Thoughtful Smile Planning
Successful begins with understanding how your teeth function together. Small differences in bite forces, tooth position, and enamel thickness can influence which treatment option is most appropriate.

During your evaluation, our local cosmetic dentist will discuss the changes you would like to see in your smile and help you understand the health and stability of your teeth. Dr. Klein will also explain how veneers would interact with your bite and surrounding teeth so any cosmetic changes support both appearance and long-term comfort.
In some situations, tooth veneers are the ideal solution, while in others a dental crown may provide better structural support or bite stability. Thoughtful smile planning helps determine which restoration will best support the long-term health and stability of your teeth.

Veneers at Different Life Stages
Dr. Klein typically recommends porcelain veneers for adults once growth and development are complete and tooth position and bite function are stable. At that stage, veneers provide excellent durability and lifelike aesthetics.
For younger patients, however, Dr. Klein may recommend a more conservative approach. When front teeth are naturally small or differently shaped (often called peg laterals), lab-fabricated can improve the shape and appearance of the teeth during the teenage years.
Appearance can feel especially important at this stage of life, and teens may be particularly self-conscious about teeth that look noticeably different. Addressing these concerns early can help the smile look more balanced while growth and development continue.
Composite veneers for teens can serve as an interim solution while growth and development continue, before permanent porcelain veneers are recommended in adulthood. This allows cosmetic concerns to be addressed while preserving future treatment options.
If you are considering changes to your smile, a cosmetic evaluation with Dr. Klein can help clarify what options may be available and which approach may best support the long-term health and appearance of your teeth.

What to Expect With Veneers
Treatment is typically completed in two visits to our Grandville, MI, dental office, similar to the process used for dental crowns. During the first visit, your teeth are carefully shaped and digital scans are taken so your veneers can be custom crafted by our trusted ceramic laboratory. Temporary veneers are usually placed while the final restorations are being fabricated, a process that typically takes about 3-4 weeks.
Temporary veneers are designed to provide a preview of the final result and allow you to "test drive" the look and feel of your new smile. This stage also gives Dr. Klein the opportunity to make minor refinements before the final restorations are made.
At the second visit, the porcelain veneers are carefully cemented into place and adjusted for comfort, fit, and appearance so the result looks natural and functions comfortably with your bite.
