What Summer Events Are Going On In Grandville, Michigan?
Located along the shores of the Grand River, about 10 minutes southwest of downtown Grand Rapids, Grandville offers up parks, miles of hiking and biking trails, and is home to activities like holiday parades, fireworks displays, and family fun. Here are a few things to put on your summer bucket list!
Grandville Farmers Market
Open every Tuesday (June – mid October) from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
The Market is held in the heart of downtown Grandville, in the parking lot next to the library, and is in its seventh year providing a venue for local growers to sell their produce and other seasonal goods. Complimentary coffee and bagels are even served to Market visitors!
The Market offers a variety of seasonal goods that includes flowers, hanging baskets, herbs, perennial plants, produce from Great Bread Company, Kettle Corn Dorothy and Toto, fudge, and Amish Michigan made cheese.
Music at the Pavilion @Wedgwood Park
June 26, July 10, July 17 6pm – 8pm
Put on by the Grandville Jenison Chamber, the four-week series is held on Wednesdays, and includes a variety of music, food vendors, and plenty of free kids activities. June 26 will feature country music with the Brian Randall Band, July 10 will be the Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band Don Middlebrook & the Pearl Drivers, and the series will end on July 17 with classic rock from Jaded.
Summer Family Night – Tom Plunkard’s Amazing Adventures
June 27 at 7 pm
What’s more fun for the family than a magic show? Held at the Kent District Library – Grandville Branch on Maple Street, it’s a family-friendly hilarious magic show filled with live animals, audience participation, and — you guessed it — amazing magic! And while you’re there, take the time to check out a few books to read during those long summer days.

Visser Family YMCA Buck Creek Run
June 29 8am
As part of the City of Grandville Fourth of July celebrations, the Visser Family YMCA Buck Creek Run began in 1974 as a way to add a healthy event to the holiday events and get people active. The 5K course winds around the neighborhoods of Grandville and ends at the Grandville Middle School. It costs $35 to register, although a Kid’s Dash is offered at no cost. And it’s all for a good cause! Proceeds from the Buck Creek Run provide scholarships for the Visser Family YMCA Impact Achievers Program — an afterschool program for Grandville, Jenison, and Hudsonville middle-school students.
Fourth of July Celebration
June 29 – July 4
The Grandville Fourth of July Celebration is organized by the Grandville Parks and Recreation Board to celebrate our nation’s independence, and spans from Saturday, June 29, to Thursday, July 4. The variety of events and activities include a 5K run/walk, free yoga, a pancake breakfast, arts and crafts show, chainsaw carving, a parade, cornhole tournaments, food booths, vendors, the Penny Carnival, inflatables, a bike rodeo, and — of course — fireworks on July 4!
Kid’s Zone Fun For All Free For All
July 13 and Aug. 10 11am – 12pm
Held at JCPenney in Rivertown Crossings Mall, this is a great event that offers activities for the kids that include an ID badge, a lanyard, and collector’s pins. Plus, parents get coupons for 10% off merchandise the day of the event. On July 13, kids can color a fun back-to-school pencil pouch from IZOD, and on Aug. 10 they can make a cool Nerf target board.
Grandville Vintage & Blueberry Fest
Aug. 9 4pm – 9pm and Aug. 10 10am- 3pm
Held on Chicago Drive between Wilson and Washington, this festival features live music, a classic car show, food booths, carnival games, dunk tank, pie eating contest, pet fashion show, cornhole tournament, Elvis impersonators, vintage tractors, vendors, and more!
